Saturday Jan 11  3 SPOTS
12:00 – 12:55 PM

Our expert coach will define and refine your touch turns to take precious seconds off your IM, Backstroke, Breaststroke or Butterfly events.
You’ll fine tune all of the IM transition turns including the elements of two-handed touch turns (Fly/Breast/IM).  A focus will be put on breath economy and underwater skill off the walls.

The use of on deck video review will be used to help each swimmer develop faster and more efficient turns.

PRICE  $65+HST  includes on deck video review and analysis
GROUP SIZE  Max 6 participants
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT  All participants should be Club swimmers who are comfortable racing all 4 strokes 

 

 

Saturdays Jan 18 FULL
Saturday Feb 8 
12:00 – 12:55 PM

The push offs on the turns are the second fastest moment in every race. You will learn the best technique to be faster and more economical with your breath and movements. The use of on deck video review will be used to help each swimmer develop faster and more efficient turns. 2-handed touch turns will be covered if time allows.

FORMAT
~ 30 mins of instruction, practice & videotaping
~ 15 mins of on deck rest, review and feedback on footage
~ 10 mins of dive practice after the video review

PRICE  $65+HST  includes on deck video review and analysis
GROUP SIZE  Max 6 participants
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT All participants should be Cub swimmers who are comfortable completing a basic flip turn in a race situation.

 

Saturday Jan 25th  FULL
12:00 – 12:55 PM

The dive is the instant in every race when the body is travelling at the highest velocity; learning to be faster off the blocks and to maintain that speed for the longest time possible can shave seconds off swim times.

In this 55 min intensive, you will learn dive elements that will help develop speed, power and efficiency.  The use of on deck video review will be used to help each swimmer develop faster and more effective dives.

~ 30 mins of instruction, practice & videotaping
~ 15 mins of on deck rest, review and feedback on footage
~ 10 mins of dive practice after the video review

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT All participants should be Club swimmers who are already completing racing dives from the starting blocks

 

Saturday Feb 1  FULL
12:00 – 12:55 PM

Advanced Breaststroke is a fine balancing act between Resistance, thrust and streamlining. Our expert coach will  help swimmers find hidden power and eliminate moments of drag and resistance. Timing, rhythm and symmetry will be emphasized to improve efficiency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT  
Participants should already be swimming in BR races, with a functional kick shaping and a good understanding of the competitive BR rules and regulations – this is not a learn to swim clinic.

 

 

 

Saturday Feb 8  3 SPOTS
10:45 – 11:50 AM

Advanced Butterfly is for those who are looking to improve their timing, power, undulation action, kick motion, and  underwater movements. Our expert coach will use specific cueing and exercises to improve efficiency and speed.

GROUP SIZE  Max 6 participants


MINIMUM REQUIREMENT Participants should already be swimming in Fly races (50s, 100s and at least, considering 200s) and have a good understanding of the competitive Fly rules and regulations – this is not a learn to swim clinic. 

 

 

 

 

4 WEEK COURSE
Saturdays Mar 22, 29, Apr 12 & 19
12:00 – 12:55 PM

Participants will be aspiring Lifeguards who are looking to refine the regiment of skills, drills and procedures testing for Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and National Life Saving (NLS) courses. This is NOT a certification course, but a very specific Skill Building opportunity taught by expert coaches.

SKILL/DRILLS/PROCEDURES COVERED
 ~ Develop Freestyle efficiency/endurance for the 400m timed swim
~ Water-rescue education –  judgment, skill and training with an emphasis on the fitness needed for the rescues that are testing requirements
 ~ Tows, carries and defence methods
 ~ Preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types

PREREQUISITES
 ~ Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification.
~ Swim Skills: prior swim experience or swim lessons in Front Crawl, Back Crawl and Breaststroke – minimal twelve (12) length continuous in either(or combination of) Freestyle, Breast or Back Strokes.
~ Have the ability to dive to the bottom of the deep end of the pool
~ Some First Aid Training

PAYMENT and the return of Registration Forms (if not already on file) is required within 48 hours  
REFUNDS
will be offered in the case that Team Atomica needs to cancel any date you have signed up and paid for
CREDITS only will be available to participants up to 96 hours (4 days) before scheduled date/start date
NO CREDIT will be available to participants less than 96 hours before clinic date/start date
COACHES are subject to change
