FALL 2024 WORKOUTS

CORKTOWN RUN DOWN- GROUP TRAINING

Main Entrance of Pam McConnell Recreation Centre  NEW MEET UP LOCATION

  • Wednesdays 6:00-7:10 PM  starting Sept 11th

NOT your run of the mill club run!   These run workouts, like Team Atomica’s wildly popular Masters swims, will be focused on economy of motion, have feedback on form, and be guided by proper training principles.  Get ready to improve your run economy, super charge your run speed, and get insight into, why you are doing, what you are doing.  Team Atomica’s expert coaches will start with drills and activation; and then progress to interval work, using the variety of terrain near Corktown Commons, the Bayview running path, Riverdale stairs, and the Riverdale track.  Expect a 20 min warmup, 25-35 min of intervals, and 5-10 min warm down.

GOOD TO KNOW: both the Regent Park Community Centre and Pam McConnell Aquatic Centre have showers and lockers available free of charge. Both centres can be used as a cooling space, before or after workouts, in warm weather OR as a refuge in the case of inclement weather!

BONUS:  Pam McConnell offers a FREE lane swim until 7:45 PM on Wednesdays, so you can plan your own Recovery Swim after your Run Down!
