Coach Lucien Peron

Lucien PeronCoach Lucien Peron found his calling to become a full time coach when, while working as an Information Systems Engineer, he launched a run training group at his office.

Lucien has coached athletes to podium finishes in marathons, triathlons (all distances) and swimming competitions. His systematic and holistic approach to race readiness includes nutrition, fueling, hydration and conditioning, as well as periodized endurance training to gain fitness and reduce the risk of overtraining.

He works with athletes of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a young athlete that is new to the sport, or an experienced athlete racing internationally, Lucien can help.

You can find Lucien leading swim practices, as well as bike / run / transition clinics for both, masters and youth. He is also helping the next generation of triathletes in the Chargers Triathlon Team develop the fundamentals they’ll need to succeed.

Lucien is involved with Triathlon Ontario in a variety of capacities including training and evaluating new coaches, officiating at races, and supporting the Triathlon Ontario Provincial Development Coach at Triathlon Ontario’s Training Days.

As much as he loves coaching, triathlon continues to be a lifestyle choice and Lucien makes swimming, cycling and running a part of his daily routine year-round.

As an athlete and competitor Lucien’s accomplishments include:

  • 30+ triathlon races (sprint, standard, 70.3, and 13 full Ironman) on 5 continents since 2009
  • Team Canada (standard distance) at World Triathlon Age Group Championships, Malaga (2024)
  • Ironman World Championship, Kailua-Kona (2018)
  • Canadian Triple Ironman (Whistler, Mont-Tremblant and Muskoka -2015)
  • Marathon finisher on five continents
  • SCM/LCM Provincial Swimming Championships (All strokes)
