Team Atomica Camp Kona – Hawaii 2020

Join Ultraman World Champion Tara Norton and one of coach Celeste Merey, or Suzanne Zelazo of Team Atomica in Kona, Hawaii February 29-March 6, 2020 (6 nights, 5 full days and an optional half day of training) for a fun warm-weather cycling and triathlon training camp!

This camp is fully supported and includes accommodation, coached swim, bike runs with full van support and sport nutrition, as well as all meals.  A hired chef will take care of the meals.  Bike mechanics will be done on-site by the Team Atomica support staff or transportation to a bike shop will be provided if needed.

Ride routes, as well as optional swim and run workouts, will be organized by coaches who know the area and are passionate about you getting as fit as possible. There is an option for both hilly and flat riding routes of varying distances but plan to do some climbing to see the best of the island J. All levels of athletes are welcome. The coaches will push each and every athlete regardless of ability.

Also included in the camp are evening information sessions on topics such as nutrition, mental training, injury prevention and recovery, and bike technique.

Payment in full is due December 31, 2019

Tentative Schedule:

Saturday:
Arrival and bike assembly.

Sunday:
AM Bike assembly if not done, optional ocean or pool swim

PM  Ride to “Pretty Beach” (60km with the option to add on)
PM Optional run and stretch session

Monday:
AM Optional swim
AM Captain Cook ride (60km with the option to add on)
PM Optional run and/or stretch session

Tuesday:
AM Ironman World Championship ride (up to 180kms, turn around anytime)
PM Optional run and stretch session

Wednesday:  (Easy day option)
AM Optional ocean or pool swim
PM Optional run or ride (flat or hilly options) or day off the bike
PM Optional stretch session

Thursday:
AM Last long bike option: Mauna Loa (or flat-alternative option), 65++kms
PM Optional run and stretch session

Friday:
AM Last short AM bike (most flight departures are after dinner), hilly and/or flat options
PM  Departure to Toronto

Waiver and Membership Form:
Please note we require all athletes to fill out a waiver and membership application once per season. If you are participating for the first time or have not completed the documents recently, then please fill out the documents and send them back to Team Atomica admin. All waiver and membership forms MUST be received by Team Atomica admin before the camp. If we do not receive your forms before the training camp, you will not be allowed to participate.
