Ages 15 – 99 years.
Build confidence, reduce stress and bring joy to your rides with this 4 hour workshop ( 2 evenings x 2 hours) that will take place on relatively flat terrain. Team Atomica’s Nationally certified Coach Lucien will teach you the fundamentals about biking and about your bike in a series of progressive exercises and drills. Cyclists will learn what to look out for and how to communicate in a group as well as how to stop, mount, dismount and change gears gracefully. In this inclusive and non-judgemental clinic, where every question will be answered, no matter how basic you may think it is.
Examples of material covered
Dealing with hazards, bike parts, basic bike handling skills such as like looking behind while maintaining a straight line, single hand riding, and maintaining control in various braking scenarios and road conditions.

Level 2
Ages 15 – 99 years.
Learn intermediate cycling skills that will help you ride safely at a higher rate of speed in this 2 hour workshop (1 evening x 2 hours) . Once you learn Level 1 Bike Handling Skills, Team Atomica’s Nationally certified Coach Lucien will push you in a supportive way to new levels of awareness and agility with progressively harder drills and exercises.
Examples of material covered
Gear selection and technique on flats, climbs and corners, balance and coordination using: slalom courses, tight circles, bunny hops and water bottle pickups; riding comfortably and safely with others using drills like: Shoulder to shoulder riding, bumping, cornering and pacelines

TRANSITION CLINIC

- This 1 hour transition clinic can save precious minutes off your transition times come race day by teaching you how to lay out your transition area and sharing Pro-tricks of how to get IN and OUT quickly from your bike to run. It can take hours of training on your swim to get the same benefit! This will be a hands on clinic and everyone will get to practice their transitions while receiving real-time feedback. Participants who are ready to take it to the next level will be challenged with new techniques and faster speeds. Multiple methods of getting on your bike, including the flying mount will be covered.
Mandatory equipment: bike, helmet, racing shoes.
Optional equipment: towel, socks, sun glasses, hat, nutrition.
