4 WEEK BIKE HANDLING SKILLS CLINIC

Level up your indoor fitness by mastering the technical skills needed to ride safely and confidently on the road. Over four weeks, you will receive expert instruction in group etiquette, cornering, pacing, and climbing with solid workouts that turn theory into muscle memory. Whether you are a new cyclist or a seasoned rider looking to sharpen your handling, this program provides the professional guidance you need to make the most out of every outdoor mile.

Weekly Skills Roadmap
Week 1: The Art of the Group Ride – Master the “unspoken rules” of the road, from essential hand signals and safety communication to seamless passing and etiquette.
Week 2: Precision Control – Gain the confidence to carry more speed through corners and learn technical braking to help you handle technical courses with confidence.
Week 3: Tactical Pacing – Learn the strategy of the “chase,” including how to manage your effort, close gaps efficiently, and maintain a steady rhythm.
Week 4: Power on the Inclines – Conquer the hills by optimizing your gearing and learning exactly when—and how—to transition between seated and standing climbs.

Location:  High Park
Meet at the north entrance to High Park.  On Colborne Lodge Drive just south of the intersection of Bloor street and High Park Avenue

Minimum requirement: be able to ride your bike for 1 hour.
Minimum gear requirements:  have and wear a properly functioning and fitted helmet, proper front and rear lights for your bike (depending on time of year) and a bike that is mechanically sound and safe to ride. Riders who arrive without these items will be turned away. Riders will not be permitted to wear headphones during the rides.
Suggested gear:  front headlight, regardless of time of day; a spare inner tube, pump and tire levers, cell phone, a full water bottle and some calories (a gel, bar, sports drink etc.).
Suggested skills: ability to change a tire

HOW TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE

Save time, money and BE PREPARED!  You will build confidence with hands on learning in this clinic that is for anyone wanting a seasonal refresher of how to Change a Flat Tire, or wanting to learn for the first time.  The focus will be on clincher tires not on tubeless. Thru axel and quick release wheels are both welcome.

Mandatory equipment: towel, tire levers, spare tube, bike (or just a wheel)
Optional equipment: C02 cartridge and injector (to practice)

 

 

TRANSITION CLINIC

Master the art of the transition with this hands-on clinic designed to shave minutes off your race day through expert layout tips and professional speed tricks. You’ll receive real-time feedback while practicing everything from basic setups to advanced maneuvers like the flying mount. It’s the most efficient way to improve your overall performance, offering time-saving benefits that could otherwise take months of training to achieve.

Mandatory equipment: bike, helmet, racing shoes.
Optional equipment:  towel, socks, sun glasses, hat, nutrition.
