*High Performance 90 mins swim is for intermediate athletes who meet the following criteria: can comfortably swim 1000m in a 60 min workout; can swim 600m continuous; can swim faster than 2:10 min for 1×100 meters.
*Ottawa Tri Swim Program is exclusively for those racing Ottawa Ironman or other Ironman races. This session will focus on distance freestyle swimming, open water prep and triathlon-specific strategies.

These 3 hour coach-led workouts are an opportunity to boost your fitness, confidence and help prepare those wanting to participate in summer distance events. Workouts and lane cohorts will be tailored to accommodate different levels of athletes. Swimmers can expect to cover 5-10km per workout….and the more swims you sign-up for, the more you save:
Saturdays at Riverdale Collegiate

CANCELLATION POLICY: min 96 hours notice -100% Credit; min 48 hours notice – 50% Credit; less than 48 hours notice – no credit available
Long Swim past participants include swimmers training for lake crossings (Erie, Ontario); marathon and distance event swimmers (S.C.A.R, Northumberland Strait); Ultraman and Ironman events; and masters swimmers looking for a unique challenge that is carefully planned and guided by Team Atomica‘s expert coaches.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS
Masters Swimming
Except for your personal swim gear (appropriate swim suit and well-fitting goggles and swim cap), no other equipment is mandatory – you will still be able to complete a workout without extra equipment but will likely get more benefit if you use the recommended equipment; thus, you may want to consider purchasing some of the following.
- kick boards and pullbouys (basics that all coaches and a lot of workouts will use – but many of the pools we swim at will provide them for you to use – if you buy your own, PUT YOUR NAME ON THEM)
- Fins – will help you swim further, faster, build leg & ankle strength and help you to keep better body position in the water. These are an amazing tool for all level of swimmers (especially if you have concerns about “keeping up” with the pace or endurance.)
- Paddles – will add resistance to your stroke and help you to become more powerful and efficient in the water
- Ankle Bands – only some coaches, and some athletes will use these, so ask your coach before buying
NOTE: if you are unsure of what to buy, it is okay if you do not have any equipment to start with, you can ask your coach on deck what is appropriate for you and when you should plan to have it available (ie you may not use some equipment until later in the season.)

2025 Spring Masters Swimming Terms & Conditions
- NO REFUNDS In the case of a needed cancellation, CREDIT only minus applicable ADMIN FEE will be applied to your account
- ADMIN FEE $25+HST applies to any Session Registration changes (ie. switching days, time, pool, cancellations, Injury Credit requests etc.)
- MAKE-UP SWIMS can be made at any other Fall Session Team Atomica swim workout* within 7 days before or after a missed swim (including for COVID-related reasons)
*excluding sessions marked as FULL or NO 7 Day make-up swims on our website NOTE that excluded sessions are subject to change based on registration and attendance numbers so please check before planning a make-up swim - VACATIONS/TRAVEL If you are planning a long vacation or other extended travel, please consider using our ‘Pay-as-you-go” option for the swims you will be available for (prices below and subject to space availability). Credit beyond our regular 7-day make-up policy before or after a missed swim will not be given
- INJURY in the case of an injury or sickness that keeps you out of the pool for more than 2 consecutive weeks, we will apply a credit (minus ADMIN FEE per Session) to your account for half of the missed swims and still hold your session spot for you provided you let us know at the time your injury has prevented you from swimming. If you do not want your session spot(s) held for you, we will apply a full credit (minus ADMIN FEE per Session) to your account for any missed swims as of the day you request this option. Masters swimming Credits vary from $22+HST to $36+HST per swim depending on the session you are signed up for and requesting a Credit for.
- FORMS Waiver and Athlete Profile must be submitted annually when requested. Your registration is not complete with out them.
- FULL SESSION CANCELLATION if Team Atomica needs to cancel a session for any reason, a full refund for any remaining swims will be given
- WEATHER & OTHER CANCELLATIONS OUT OF TEAM ATOMICA’S CONTROL (ie Facility Events, Labour Strikes, pool staff not showing up etc.) In the case of the first such cancellation within a Session, you will be provided with a 7-Day Make-up swim only at another Team Atomica available session. In the case of further cancellations out of Team Atomica‘s control, Team Atomica reserves the right to provide a CREDIT only or Session extension as compensation. In the case of an extended pool closure of 3+ consecutive weeks, REFUNDS will be offered.

PAY-AS-YOU-GO SWIM PRICING*
NOTE: Pay-as-you-go swims will only be able to be booked after our season starts and only at swim sessions that we don’t have marked as “FULL” above. Please email admin@teamatomica.com at least 24 hours in advance to arrange a pay-as-you-go swim. If you are hoping to do a large number of swims at the same pool/session, the best way to guarantee your spot is to sign-up for the whole season.
