Team Atomica has launched the first and only youth triathlon development and racing club in Toronto with ongoing training to prepare for the 2025 race season. For this inaugural year, we will be focused on developing a SMALL GROUP of youth between the ages of 12-17 years old and Team Atomica’s nationally certified coaches will be focused on developing each individual, across all three disciplines of Triathlon (swim-bike-run) using Triathlon Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Plan.
Program Overview
The Chargers Program is designed to provide committed youth athletes access to top-level training and sports education from our expert team of expert coaches, and weekly training includes:
- 1 X SWIM workout per week FOCUSED on technical development and aerobic conditioning tailored to their race distances; in addition
- 1 X RUN, BIKE, CONDITIONING or TRANSITION workout (aligned with weather conditions in Toronto) FOCUSED on technical development
The goal and expectation is that all selected athletes will compete in the following youth triathlon races together with a Team Atomica coach on-site:
- a GTA Indoor Triathlon (Feb-Mar)
- the Provincial Club Team Championships (mid-late Aug)
- 1 other Ontario based triathlon (tbd)
Besides the 3 above events, team members will be made aware of and encouraged to sign-up for other seasonal races as desired.
